Urban Acts – Creative talent on the street and on stage

Urban Acts is more than a local street theatre group – it’s a youth movement where creativity meets empowerment. Here, young people (4–18) discover how to tell their stories through theatre, spoken word, dance, music and movement, inspired by street and hip-hop culture.

Why Urban Acts?

We believe every story matters. Urban Acts gives young people the tools to express themselves, collaborate and inspire others. Together, we create performances that are not only entertaining but also meaningful – on stage, online and in the community.

How does it work?

Guided by an experienced artistic team, participants move from idea to performance:

  • Developing themes and writing their own texts
  • Creating choreography and experimenting with rhythm and flow
  • Rehearsing and performing in a safe, creative space

For whom?

  • Young people aged 4–18
  • With or without experience in theatre or dance
  • Anyone curious to express themselves and join a creative community

What do you learn?

  • Self-confidence on stage – and in life
  • Teamwork across different cultures and backgrounds
  • Creative skills: acting, dancing, writing, performing
  • Sharing stories that make an impact

When and where?

Urban Acts works in creative projects and rehearsal periods, both locally in the Netherlands and online with international youth. Performances take place in communities, schools, festivals – and across digital platforms.
